What is Vaulta?
Vaulta Money Manager is a local-first Android money manager for personal and business finances. Every transaction, budget and report lives in a database on your own device. There is no Vaulta server to breach, to sell to, or to shut down, and the whole app is free with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Core benefits
- See the whole picture — Balances, transactions, budgets, savings goals, business profit and forward-looking reports in one calm view.
- Keep work and life separate — Track household money alongside independent business profiles that carry their own currency, tax rate and profit summary.
- Stay in control of your data — Work from local records, then export a file or upload a backup to your own Google Drive only when you choose to.
Everyday tracking
Capture the details that shape your daily finances without turning money management into a chore.
- Income and expenses — Record amounts, categories, accounts, dates, notes, tags and receipt images for every entry you make.
- Split transactions — Divide a single payment across several categories so a mixed shopping trip stays accurate.
- Accounts and net worth — Organize cash, bank, savings, credit, debit, loan, wallet, insurance, property and business accounts.
- Recurring entries and templates — Automate repeating transactions and keep one-tap templates for the payments you make most often.
Capture without typing
Let Vaulta prepare transactions from the alerts and receipts you already receive, then confirm them yourself.
- Notification capture — Vaulta reads incoming notifications from the messaging and banking apps you specifically allow, and no others.
- Scan a bill instead of typing it — Tap Scan on the add screen, photograph the bill, and Vaulta reads the total, merchant and date on the device without uploading the picture.
- Review inbox — Captured items wait in a review queue until you approve them, and capture stays off until you switch it on.
- Your own matching rules — Write keyword or pattern rules so recognized payments land in the categories you would have chosen.
Plan and understand
Turn your transaction history into budgets, projections and signals you can act on before the month ends.
- Flexible budgets — Set general or per-category budgets by week, month or year and follow spent, remaining and usage progress.
- Savings goals — Create targets with optional deadlines and linked accounts, then watch contributions build up visually.
- 30-day money plan — Simulate upcoming bills and income against real balances. The simulation never changes your actual records.
- Reports and unusual spending — Explore category breakdowns, daily trends, cash-flow calendars and spending that runs above your usual pace.
Personal and business money
Keep the different parts of your financial life visible without mixing every transaction into one pile.
- Business profiles — Track separate business income, expenses, balance, profit and a configurable tax-rate estimate.
- Multi-currency accounts — Assign a currency per account and view converted summaries when exchange-rate data is available.
- Customers and vendors — Keep lightweight contact records for the people you bill and the suppliers your business pays.
- Android home-screen widgets — Check balance, budget progress and quick actions from three widgets without opening the app.
Control, privacy and portability
Decide how Vaulta looks, who is allowed to open it and where copies of your records are permitted to go.
- PIN or biometric lock — Optionally require a four-digit PIN or device biometric whenever Vaulta returns to the foreground.
- Five themes, light and dark — Choose Emerald, Ocean, Amethyst, Sunset or Monochrome, and follow light, dark or system appearance.
- Portable exports — Export your records as JSON, as CSV, or as the complete SQLite database file, whenever you want them.
- Backups you initiate — Save or share a backup file yourself, or sign in once to upload a chosen backup to your Google Drive.

Where your data goes
Stays on your device
- Your transactions and accounts — Every record you create is written to a local SQLite database inside the private app storage.
- Budgets, goals and reports — Analysis, projections and budget progress are calculated on your phone from your own records.
- Notification parsing — Text from allowed notifications is matched against patterns locally. Nothing is uploaded to be read.
- Receipt text recognition — Reading a receipt happens on the device, and the photograph is not sent anywhere for processing.
Leaves only when you ask
- Exchange rates — If you use currency conversion, Vaulta fetches published rates from a public exchange-rate service.
- Google Drive backup — If you sign in and choose to upload, a backup file goes to your own Drive using app-created-file access.
- Nothing else leaves — There is no Vaulta account system, no sync server, no advertising network and no analytics reporting.
Privacy and data control
- Does Vaulta work offline? Yes. You can track spending, manage budgets, make plans and view reports without an internet connection. You only need to go online when you choose to refresh currency conversions or back up your records to Google Drive.
- Do I need to create an account? No. You can use all of Vaulta's money-tracking features without signing up or creating a password. You are only asked to sign in to Google if you choose to back up your records to Google Drive.
- Does Vaulta connect to my bank? No. Vaulta never signs in to or directly connects with your bank. You can enter transactions yourself, scan a receipt, or let Vaulta prepare a draft from transaction alerts you choose to share. You review the details before saving them.
- Are my records encrypted on my phone? No. Vaulta's optional PIN, fingerprint or face lock can stop someone from opening the app, but the saved records themselves are not encrypted. Android keeps them in the app's private storage, and they are left out of automatic cloud backups.
- How do backup and export work? You can create a full backup for restoring Vaulta or moving to another phone. You can also export your records for use in spreadsheets and other tools. You decide where to save or share each file, and backing up to your own Google Drive is optional.
Read the Vaulta privacy policy and review the Google Play listing and Data Safety information before installing.

Vaulta questions and answers
Does Vaulta work offline?
Yes. You can track spending, manage budgets, make plans and view reports without an internet connection. You only need to go online when you choose to refresh currency conversions or back up your records to Google Drive.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use all of Vaulta's money-tracking features without signing up or creating a password. You are only asked to sign in to Google if you choose to back up your records to Google Drive.
Does Vaulta connect to my bank?
No. Vaulta never signs in to or directly connects with your bank. You can enter transactions yourself, scan a receipt, or let Vaulta prepare a draft from transaction alerts you choose to share. You review the details before saving them.
Can Vaulta see my text messages?
Vaulta cannot open or search your text message history. If you turn on transaction capture, it can use new alerts from the messaging or banking apps you select. You can change the selected apps or turn capture off at any time.
Are captured transactions added automatically?
No, not by default. You choose whether to turn capture on, and new items wait for your approval unless you also turn on automatic confirmation. Vaulta ignores one-time passcodes, promotional messages and delivery alerts.
Are my records encrypted on my phone?
No. Vaulta's optional PIN, fingerprint or face lock can stop someone from opening the app, but the saved records themselves are not encrypted. Android keeps them in the app's private storage, and they are left out of automatic cloud backups.
How do backup and export work?
You can create a full backup for restoring Vaulta or moving to another phone. You can also export your records for use in spreadsheets and other tools. You decide where to save or share each file, and backing up to your own Google Drive is optional.
Does Vaulta sync between my devices?
No. Changes made on one device do not appear automatically on another. To move to a new phone, create a full backup on the old phone and restore it on the new one.
How many currencies does Vaulta support?
Vaulta includes 41 currencies, and each account can use a different one. An internet connection is needed to refresh the exchange rates used in converted totals.
Which Android version do I need?
You need Android 7.0 or later. Home-screen widgets and transaction capture need your permission. On some phones, you may also need to allow Vaulta to keep running in the background so battery-saving settings do not stop transaction capture.
Is Vaulta available on iPhone?
No. Vaulta is currently available only for Android through Google Play.
How much does Vaulta cost?
Vaulta is currently free to install on Android from Google Play. There are no advertisements, no in-app purchases, no subscription tier and no paid feature unlocks in the app.
