How to split group expenses

  1. Create a group, choose one currency, and add the people taking part.
  2. Record each expense, its payer or multiple payers, and only the people who shared it. Split equally, by exact amounts, by percentages, or by shares.
  3. Review spending charts and member balances, then follow Settle Up to see who pays whom. Copy or share the summary and download the complete Excel report.

Balances, rounding, and saved groups

Each balance is the amount paid minus the amount owed. A positive balance means that person receives money; a negative balance means they owe money. Rounding uses the smallest currency unit, and settlement combines balances to suggest a small number of transfers. Use one currency per group: changing its label does not convert amounts. No account is needed. Your current group is saved in this browser; clearing browser data removes it.
